Who We Are
VFS GoAero Purdue is an AAE organization at Purdue University, composed of students from diverse disciplines with a shared interest in eVTOL aircraft design.
What We Do
By participating in the GoAERO Competition, we aim to excel in the three Stages of the Competition while educating future engineers on innovative eVTOL technologies.
How We Do It
By leveraging the guidance of faculty and the support of Purdue University and collaborating with other organizations, we empower our team to suceed in the Competition.
Our Aircraft
The HEART (Human Emergency Aerial Rescue and Transport) eVTOL will be the aircraft our team will be manufacturing for the GoAERO Competition. With 8 powerful electric motors in a coaxial configuration, its innovative landing gear design, and swappable batteries, our Vehicle is highly capable, versatile, and productive. The report for HEART was awarded the US University Innovation Award in Stage 1 of the Competition.

The Prototype
Our prototype is a scaled eVTOL platform capable of carrying more than 20 pounds, built to demonstrate autonomous operation intended for further testing HEART. Serving as a testbed for our autonomy, control, and powertrain, it enables the team to validate key technologies and refine the design before full-scale manufacturing, marking a crucial step toward realizing our vision.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to advance the field of VTOL aircraft design through innovative engineering, hands-on learning, and collaboration, while preparing students to lead the future of aerospace. By dedicating countless hours to transcending the challenges of this competition, we aim to become a leader among student organizations in shaping the future of eVTOL technology.
